The Press cannot grant permission for material for which we do not control the rights. Many illustrations in our titles have been licensed from third parties. If an image or a passage is attributed to a third party in the credit line or on the book’s copyright page, please contact the credited party to request permission for reuse.
We receive a significant amount of permission requests that require time to investigate. We ask that you please allow up to three weeks for a response.
To use content from one of our books, please request permission via this form.
You may also submit your permission request via email, but it may take longer to process if you do not provide all the necessary information in the initial email.
Please submit all of the following information to rights@upress.ufl.edu. Provide as much detail as possible.
For the UPF Title
- Title, author, and edition;
- Requested page range(s) or figures with page numbers;
- Word count, if available, for the selection of text, or number of paragraphs. Please be as detailed as possible.
For the future publication in which the material will be reprinted
- Expected title, author, publisher, edition, formats;
- Territory, language, and term of license;
- Print runs and list prices for all formats.
Permission for classroom use and course packs
Requests can be made via the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) Academic Permissions Services for most of our titles. To make a course pack request directly, contact rights@upress.ufl.edu or use our permission request form.
Alternate-Format Requests for disability access
The Press has partnered with Bookshare to facilitate access to alternative formats of our books. If Bookshare does not have the title you’re searching for, you can submit a request to them. You can also send requests to rights@upress.ufl.edu and include information about the class the student is taking and whether they have purchased a copy of the book.
Subsidiary Rights (reprints, translations, audiobook, motion picture, etc.)
For foreign-language translations, please note that we work with the international subagents indicated below.
For translation rights in languages not listed below, and for all other subsidiary rights inquiries, including but not limited to English-language reprint, audiobook, motion picture, and dramatic rights, please contact rights@upress.ufl.edu.
